Crispy roasted chickpeas: sweet, salty & spicy

Crispy roasted chickpeas: sweet, salty & spicy recipe

Chickpeas have become something of a hit in the past few years – they are ever so cheap to buy (you can get a 400g tin for as little as 35p!), easy to cook with & super high in protein. You can make a chickpea curry, a chickpea hummus or the easiest (& I think the tastiest!) way of making chickpeas is roasting them! There are no limits to your imagination when it comes to flavours of roasted chickpeas – for your inspiration I’ve put together three of my favourite recipes: one that’s sweet, one that’s salty & one that’s super spicy!

I love nibbling on them when I’m feeling a little peckish – the salty garlic chickpeas work well when you’re trying to get yourself off crisps. But who can resist the taste of Peri Peri? Perhaps that’s one to try when you’re combating your Nandos addiction. The sugar & honey chickpeas are great in the morning to give you a bit of an energy kick (instead of a chocolate bar) or in the evening when you’re about to demolish the fridge! Hope you try them – and if you do, please tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram (both @cityscapebliss).
